The emphasis at Domaine Sarrazin is on preserving the freshness and purity of the fruit whilst maintaining the sense of terroir. This is done by limiting production though extensive pruning, a short period of oak ageing in both new and old wood and bottling the wines without fining or filtering, techniques which preserve the delicate fruit aromas. Floral notes and red berry fruits provide a crisp, fresh nose, the pure fruit flavours showing through on the juicy palate. Subtle oak provides structure to the wine, giving it a supple, rounded finish. Excellent with roast pork.

Over the centuries, volcanic ash from Vesuvius has been blown across the Bay of Naples to settle in the hills in Campagna. This has imparted a vocanic quality to the soil, which, combined with late-harvests and cool-fermentation, results in the purest fruit flavours erupting from the wine. Peaches and apricots on the nose, and a Viognier-like quality on the palate, this Greco provides the ideal accompaniment to foods typical of the region in which it is made.

Pale straw in colour, the nose is powerful and complex with aromas of exotic fruits, citrus and peach and a hint of floral notes. Fresh and fruity on the palate, developing to a lingering finish. Serve well chilled, as an aperitif or with seafood and fish dishes.

Fermented together to give harmony to the blend, the Syrah and Viognier grapes, from very low, concentrated yields, were not oak aged to allow the full flavours of the fruit to show through. The nose shows aromatic Viognier notes of violet and bergamot, which combine with characteristic Shiraz red fruit flavours on the palate. Elegant and clean on the finish, this is ideal with casseroles and grills.

This Nebbiolo from a small family-run estate is a classic, approachable wine, showing the tar-and-rosewater characteristics typical of the variety. A classic Burgundy from an estate founded in 1820. Made from vines with an average age of fourty years old, the wine displays subtly spicy, earthy fruit aromas of red berries and fruits of the forest. Sixteen months oak ageing in both old and new oak barrels had added discreet spice to the rich, full palate. An excellent accompaniment to stews and casseroles. Awarded a Bronze medal at the International Wine Challenge 2004.

Antoine and Rachel Olivier have created a rich, well-balanced wine from grapes grown on different plots of land from across the Domaine to give a fine example of Santenay. White flowers, exotic fruits and toasted nut flavours combine on the rich, well-balanced palate. Delicious now, it can be aged for 3-5 years to give extra mellowness and complexity.

Beaujolais from Majestic Wine Warehouses is the perfect red wine to enjoy during the summer. The lighter reds are often best enjoyed chilled and make a great alternative to many rosé wines. The more serious Beaujolais wines from the cru rated villages make a wonderful accompaniment to barbecues or garden parties.

A recent "Manager's Choice" from Majestic Wine Warehouses was Moulin-â-Vent 'Les Bruyères' 2006 B. de Monceny; Showing a nose of bitter chocolate, cherries and a wonderfully constructed palate, this Beaujolais could easily be mistaken for a Pinot Noir. It is however, a good example of a Beaujolais cru famed for its fuller style and keeness to age. At this price we're really impressed by its complexity and length.
